The Little Engine That Does

You know the book the “Little Engine That Could?" Well, I have dubbed the Rotary Club of Snohomish “The Little Club That Does”. This club had some truly big challenges to overcome at the beginning of the year. Through the leadership of Bob Knight they did just that. This is a very small club that does big things and it is be cause they all work together on everything they do.
On April 26th, it was my privilege to present to Susan Sullivan and Pam Osborne a Paul Harris for their outstanding leadership and support to that community. I called it the Bob and Pat show, where, as a sign of the respect for Rotary in the community, thirty people, along with eleven members of Rotary were in attendance. It was an evening of great fellowship, sharing the outstanding work these two women do in their community.

Another Busy Week in D5050

The last couple of weeks have been busy! Is it just me or is this year flying by!?
Yashar visited several clubs and we were host to one of those visits. He is an amazing ambassadorial scholar and his presentation speaks to the difference he is making in the world.  After our club he visited the Everett club then came back again to the Burlington and Oak Harbor Clubs. He was a standout at the District Assembly and we hope he will be able to join us at District Conference.

Yashar and Jane!
Last week my Club enjoyed hearing Carolyn Seabrook Ferguson, RI Major Giving, speak. I then traveled to the Everett Club where she was in attendance. She travels to our District once or twice a year to thank us for our continued support of the Rotary Foundation.

I presented George Petrie with his 50th year pin as a Rotarian. That is a lot of lunches. What an amazing man and he was surprised by the presentation which made it even better!
