District Events

We are very fortunate this year. We have had two individuals come forward with innovative ideas for District wide fellowship. We are Rotarians and we make Rotary FUN!

The first one led by Ajay Caleb will be a hike in the Sedro Woolley/Mt Baker area. I look forward to seeing many Rotarians, friends and families either on the hike or for the bar-b-cue after the hike. August 20th.

Ajay needs help with this day. Anyone who is interested in getting involved with, fun and fellowship please read below and contact him at works_for_you@yahoo.ca

1. We are looking for volunteers to help with the hike (planning)
2. We are looking for volunteers to assist on the hike day - lead the hike/hikes, and the BBQ.
3. Family, friends and "New Generations" (teens) with the aim of introducing them to FUN things Rotary, Interact, Rotoract, YAIL and RYLA are all welcome. Help us get the word out.

The Radio Amateur Clubs of Skagit County and Surrey have agreed to provide the communications for the hike.  Thus, if any "Ham" Rotarians in the District want to join us, this would be a great opportunity for them to connect with other "Hams".

This is the day after golf-fun, if you are coming for golf make it a weekend of fellowship. What a great way to get to know each other.

There is also a Peace Arch picnic planned for Sept 17th. by Derek Lucas and his committee. More on this later.

I am excited about the prospect of getting together and having fun with fellow Rotarians for these events. See you there and please help Ajay with this project.

Jane
