A Health Update...

Well this has been an interesting week for travel.  Upon my return, home after having to cut my club visits short and cancel them for this past week, I found myself traveling from my bed to my couch, then back to my bed again.  There was a few times, where I ventured as far as my deck to sit in the sun, now that summer has arrived.  After sitting in my deck chair with heat pack on my back for a short time, I traveled back to my bed.  And so, it went until Tuesday afternoon finally arrived.  I had a big outing.  My friend took me to the Everett clinic where I enjoyed a ride through the grand tube called an MRI.  After the MRI, we returned home and back to my bed.  This has been very exciting.

While on the way to the clinic, one of our District chairs called me with some information and asked how I was doing.  I told her I was on my way to have an MRI.  She mentioned her brother in law is a great neurologist and if I needed anything to let her know.

As it turned out the trip through the “tube” said I needed to see a neurologist.  To make a long story short, I got to travel again to the Everett clinic on Wednesday to see this Doctor.  He admitted me to the hospital and surgery was scheduled for this yesterday.

At midnight the Doctor came in and told me it was a mess and I never would have gotten well, so surgery was the correct decision.  I should be able to return home in a day or two for recuperation.

I will be notifying clubs to reschedule those that need to and be patience with the healing process.

I am very sorry this has happened at a most inopportune time.  I will do my best to get well and be out to visit all of you as soon as I can.  In the meantime thank you for your patience, understanding, and the many well wishes.

Isn’t Rotary wonderful though?  Had it not been for my Rotary friend and her contact with her brother in law, I would have had another week to wait to see a neurologist then who knows how long before surgery would have been determined.
